Church Family,
During Pastor Luke’s message this past Sunday, Worship Is Our Way, he paused after reading Acts 16:27-28:
“When the jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison standing open, he drew his sword and was going to kill himself, since he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul called out in a loud voice, ‘Don’t harm yourself, because we’re all here!’”
In that moment, Pastor Luke prayed over those struggling with suicidal thoughts or with loved ones contemplating suicide. He emphasized that, just as Paul cried out to the jailer, we are all here.
As your Elders, we want to extend that same care and support. If you raised your hand for prayer, or if this is something you’re walking through, here are some next steps:
1. Immediate Help – If you need urgent psychological support, please call or text the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988, or visit 988lifeline.org/chat for online support. You can also find mental health services through Central Florida Behavioral.
2. Pastoral Counseling – We want to walk with you. Pastor Ken Mann is available for pastoral care and counseling. Ken is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (License #IMH26870) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. He will hold confidence within the limits of Florida law regarding mental health professionals. Click here to connect directly with Ken.
3. Professional Counseling – If you prefer to speak with a counselor outside of our church family, we recommend Hope Counseling Center in Winter Garden. You can also call Hope Counseling Center at 407-654-5700. If cost is a barrier, we want to help ease that financial burden—please reach out to [email protected].
4. Community Support – You don’t have to walk through this alone. We encourage you to connect with a Crew, Men’s Bible Study, or Women’s Bible Study to find community and support.
5. Prayer – We would be honored to pray with you and for you by name. You can submit a prayer request here.
We are committed to the long-term care of our church family’s mental, emotional, and spiritual health. In the coming months, we will be providing additional resources and opportunities for support as we continue to walk this journey together.
You are not alone. We are all here together.
With Love and Care,
Luke Lezon, Steven Grimes, Greg Hovey, David Rice and Travis Brown
